Description:
This Rapid growth in urbanization led to more Leisure Time among the middle class families. This led to the gradual reduction and hours people worked, better transportation, more Billboards in advertising, as well as a decline in Victorian and Puritan values such as wasting time on playing games. One of the greatest forms of recreation at the time was the temperance movement which was drinking and talking at bars. Another was attending theaters that had comedies and dramas which were very popular in major cities. During this time was the creation of many circus trains that would go from town to town displaying their show as well as many railroad companies that would promote weekend excursions to the countryside so Urban families can enjoy picnics and outdoor recreation
