Description:

Reconstruction had entered another phase during Grant’s second term, which was its final round. Southern conservatives, known as redeemers, took control of state governments. It was done by 1877 and the redeemers agreed on state’s rights, reduced taxes, and reduced spending on social programs, and white supremacy.
