Description:
General in chief Winfield scott who participated in both mexican wars and war of 1812. He devised a three part plan as the strategy for winning. The first part of the plan was to block southern ports. Taking control of the Mississippi river dividing the confederacy in 2 and raising and training an army of 500,000.
Anaconda plan- The first part of the strategy was referred to as the anaconda plan. It would cut off essential supplies from reaching the confederacy. This plan was vital to helping the Union win the war.
