Description:

SALT I was negotiations between the United States and Soviet Union involving missiles carrying potential nuclear weapons. Many agreements were made in the Strategic arms limitations talks but there were 2 important treaties: Treaty on Anti-Ballistic Missile and Interim Agreement and Protocol on Limitation of Strategic Offensive Weapons. These set limitations on both of the countries and kept them from defending more than a small portion of their entire country.
