1 janv. 2010 - Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")
Description:
President Obama pushed Congress to pass his signature piece of legislation, which expanded health insurance to millions of Americans previously uncovered through a variety of measures including extending Medicaid, setting up health insurance exchanges, allowing children to remain under their parents coverage until the age of 26, and preventing insurance companies from excluding coverage based on pre existing conditions. This also increased Executive power as this Act faced immense opposition from Republicans and required President Obama to personally appeal to the American public in order to secure it's passage.
