1 janv. 1964 - Arno Penzias & Robert Wilson
Description:
The pair worked on an ultrasensitive microwave antenna/receiver, and noticed an ever-present noise in the sensors. They had discovered something only theorized and lightly attempted back in the 1940s, the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation (CMB).
This discovery was the flagship evidence point for the universe's origin known as the Big Bang. As the hot gas from the expanding explosion of teh Big Bang, a uniform heat residue would be left behind, and that is what the CMB is.
