1 janv. 1929 - Georges Lemaitre & Edwin Hubble

Description:

Based on Einstein's general relativity equations, Lemaitre theorized and predicted a relationship between distance and how redshifted something is. Two years later, Hubble found and reinforced the same ideas Lemaitre had, and published the Hubble Law, which says that the farther the stars are the faster they are moving away from Earth.

This had huge ramifications, because now not only is the universe huger than we thought, but now it only going to get bigger and bigger. The universe is expanding.
