1 janv. 476 - Fall of the Western Empire and Ancient Rome
Description:
The fall of ancient Rome had been a long time coming. With the steady decline of the empire, Rome had been losing power and competence in being able to control their territory specifically in the western providences. With the further weakening of the Western Empire by barbarian invasions and the decline of the economy, their resources were thin and depleted. Romulus, the last of the Roman emperors in the west, was overthrown by the Germanic leader Odoacer and marked the end of Ancient Rome. Although the Eastern Empire strived and prospered it would go on as the Byzantine Empire and Rome would never be as it once was.
