Prohibition; Volstead Act (POL, CUL) – A growing number of Alcoholics and alcoholism in the country worried many people, Ann pushed the government to enforce the Volstead act in 1919. The homestead act was the official way of referring to prohibition. Alcohol was prohibited from being sold Anne made. It was a result of decades and decades of temperance fights for prohibition. Because a war was concerning many people , it was recognize that there needed to be a workforce that was sober to help the country be the best it can be.
