1 janv. 1864 - Sand Creek Massacre
Description:
The Union Army grew in strength during the civil war and by 1862, it was much more powerful and willing to sue its force against Indians with respect to their forcible removal. Even though the U.S.army promised the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians refuge, they killed 200. This signified a greater willingness by the U.S. government to use its military against native populations.
