1 janv. 1963 - Birmingham Campaign
Description:
Activists in Birmingham, Alabama launched one of the most crucial campaigns of the Civil Rights Movement, which included lunch counter sit ins, marches on city hall, and boycotts on city merchants. The Birmingham police force brutally opposed these demonstrations; images of fire hoses blasting women and children and setting police dogs on defenseless human beings became the most iconic and polarizing images of the Movement.
