The Medicine Lodge Treaty was signed on October 21, 1867 that affected five plains tribes: Kiowa, Plains Apache, Comanche, Cheyenne, and Arapho. Under this treaty these five plains tribes were forced to move to reservations in Indian Territory and assimilate with American culture.
