Description:

A "federal White Paper" was published stating to get rid of the Indian Act, status and reserves and to give the provinces the responsibility to oversee Indigenous affairs. The "Red Paper" was written in opposition, for Indigenous People to be considered “Citizens Plus.” The White Paper was later withdrawn due to this opposition.
