1 janv. 1836 - "Daniell Cell" - 1836 AD
Description:
Designed by John Frederic Daniell, it was a copper pot filled with copper sulfate and immersed into a container of sulfuric acid and zinc electrode. This new development was the first working standard that helped define the "volt" since it could consistently provide 1 volt of energy. This was also safer and less corrosive than previous models. Later variations of this model, the Gravity Cell, became the battery for big telegraph companies powering long-distance communication.
