4 mars 1893 - Grover Cleveland (Term 2)

Description:

During his two terms, Cleveland vetoed more congressional bills than any other president except Franklin D. Roosevelt. His most famous vetoes include the controversial veto of the Texas Seed Bill (on the grounds that there was no such appropriation in the Constitution) and the veto of a bill issuing false pensions that congressmen were awarding in order to placate the Grand Army of the Republic. He also tried to lower tariffs through the Wilson-Gorman Tariff of 1894 but the reform was mostly nullified by more than 600 amendments that the Senate added.
