Description:

Dainsleif meets with his friend Torolf and a man named Vethil
_________________________________________________

Torolf Iron-Side meets with Dainsleif at an inn, where he convinced the man to try recently imported rum as they discuss potentially curing Dainsleif of a curse that had befallen him at the hands of a witch.

A Dunmer man named Vethil soon arrived, a friend of the two men and a master of house Telvanni, and sat down to join them. After explaining his past run ins with vampires and other undesirables during his time as a pirate, Torolf elaborated that a vampire he once knew educated him about the curse, as well as soul magic, before he killed it.

Vethil concurred with Torolf that if Dainsleif was able to acquire the severed head of the witch that cursed him, they may be able to transfer the curse to her soul in the soul cairn by performing a ritual at a nearby altar. The men agreed to the plan and Dainsleif departed to retrieve the head of the witch.

Around dusk, the men met at the altar that sat close to Tal'Deic fortress in Deshaan. Dainsleif placed the head of the witch into a bowl that laid atop the altar as Vethil commenced the ritual. After an eruption of light emitted from the bowl and Dainsleif screamed in pain, the ritual seemed to come to a close.

Before the men could gather themselves, a manifestation of some kind — reminisce of a Dremora — attacked Dainsleif. A fight broke out, and soon the apparition laid dead before them.

Dainsleif expressed his immense relief at being free of the witch's curse, thanking Vethil for his aid. Torolf suggested they return to the tavern, but Dainsleif explained that he had pressing matters to attend to at Tel Voth.
