After having recovered after the blaze, the Gibson Canal plan was put into motion, excavating a massive canal connecting the North-Western and Southern coasts, changing the Australian ecology, and making the before arid middle Australia inhabitable. Cities aroze there in a matter of months and a lot of factories, under the new communist government it was used to produce weapons.
