Description:

U.S. government limited the amount of sugar various foreign countries may sell to the U.S. to assist Cuba in transitioning from wartime to peacetime conditions

Aims of the U.S. was to protect welfare of consumers of sugar and of those engaged in trade of the U.S.

Increases in market above 8,350,000 short tons, raw value, would be allocated 55% to domestic producing areas and 45% to foreign suppliers.
