Gondul saves King Jorunn's life

Upon reentering the Dreamstride, Gondul came into contact with Stormy-Eyes, who was wounded. He explained that the apparition of King Jorunn had recently passed him while following a pretty woman, who he could not identify — and then strange specters appeared.

He further explained that if Gondul were to fail, they would all die horrible deaths within the Kings' dreams. Gondul headed in the direction Stormy-Eyes directed him in, overhearing the conversations between several apparitions of Nord soldiers.

After battling through several hostile apparitions, Gondul made his way to where he could hear King Jorunn's adamant determination to wake from the dream — only he was intercepted by another lich Dream Eater.

After battling with the monster, Gondul eventually slew it, proceeding to make his way to the King. Upon reaching him, King Jorunn appeared before Gondul in the flesh, expressing great admiration for his sister, Queen Nurnhilde, and the peoples' reverence of her.

He explained that the apparition of his sister had fooled him in believing his sister was alive, only then remembering she was dead, and that he alone was what was left to lead his people.

Although admitting Gondul's face was familiar, King Jorunn could not remember him. He thanked him regardless, to which Gondul urged him that they must soon leave.

Before they left, an apparition of Queen Nurnhilde appeared before them, much to King Jorunn's shock. She explained that Fildgor's plan was to use her remains and the Crown of Freydis to merge her spirit with his own in an attempt to claim that it would make him the rightful King.

King Jorunn urged Gondul to exit the Dreamstride ahead of him, and that he must first speak with his sister before reawakening. Gondul agreed, exiting the dreamstride.

Upon the King's awakening, he greatly thanked Gondul, suggesting he would normally throw a feast and offer Gondul a place in his personal guard — but that the threat of Fildgor was still imminent, and his attempt to desecrate Queen Nurnhilde's remains must be prevented.

King Jorunn explained that the Crown of Freydis will only rest upon the head of the true heir to the throne, and that if the Crown fits Fildgor if he merges Nurnhilde's spirit with his own, not even he could oppose it.

After Gondul inquired about what they should do next, King Jorunn explained that Fildgor and the Stormfists had fled to the dragonshrine of Skuldafn. He proclaimed that Prince Irnskar and himself would head for the camps at the foot of the mountain to plan their next strategy.
