Description:

Sydney Rigdon spoke for 90 minutes saying that he should be the new prophet because the was the last remaining member of the First Presidency.

Brigham Young said that the Q12 had all of the keys. Rigdon declined an offer to rebut and had Phelps speak next, who spoke in favor of the 12.

Then they had a vote where the majority voted for the 12. All who did not were later excommunicated.

Decades later it was claimed that BY looked and sounded like JS during his talk, but no one wrote about that in their journal, including BY who wrote that day. Some who weren't even at the conference testified that they were there and saw this happen. Lying for the Lord?
