Description:

Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia when the ultimatum is not accepted.

In return Russia starts mobilising forces, sparking an immediate reaction from Germany, which urged Russia to stop. Russia declines, and Germany declares war - on Russia as well as on France, its ally.

German troops are met with Belgian resistance when passing through, so they retaliate, which draws an objection from Britain. The UK, including its oversea dominions (Australia, Canada, New Zealand) declares war on Germany.
