1 janv. 1868 - 14th Amendment
Description:
The 14th Amendment is summed up as being everyone born in the United States is a citizen. States cannot deprive anyone of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness without the due process of law. After the civil war, southern states had to ratify this amendment in order to rejoin the union. This shows how the Federal government had power over the states.
