5 oct. 1789 - Women's March to Versailles
Description:
The women's march to Versailles occurred in the morning of October 5, 1789. This was when a large group of women marched through the streets, protesting. The protest started off with only women, but as more people joined the mob, men joined as well. The reason so many people were protesting was because the French economy had become poor. So the main food source of commoners, bread, became scarce. Commoners demanded that they lower the price of bread.
