13 oct. 2017 - New Stranger Things Star Sadie Sink on Her Journey into the Upside Down

Description:

Vanity Fair Online

As one might imagine, the past few days have been a bit of a whirlwind for Stranger Things newcomer Sadie Sink. She’d had some warning from her young co-stars of what to expect—as she recalled, they told her, “Get ready; it’s going to be crazy!”—but even so, “It’s actually been insane,” Sink told Vanity Fair. “Based on what the other kids had told me, I knew things were going to be a little bit . . . different. I didn’t know how . . . I get what they mean now.”

Interviews, social-media channels exploding—it’s the new normal for a Stranger Things kid. And as “Mad” Max in the Netflix drama’s second season, Sadie has officially joined that group. Her character skateboards into Hawkins, Indiana, alongside her loud-mouthed bully of a brother, Billy (Dacre Montgomery), with very little on her mind beyond skateboarding and playing video games. Soon enough, however, Max finds herself in the middle of a pre-teenage love triangle between Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin). Sink, who got her start on Broadway, already knew Matarazzo and McLaughlin—a pair of theater kids themselves—before joining the show. That made being the new kid a little easier—as did the welcoming energy on the set, where, Sink observed, “everybody’s really chill.”
