Description:
16 bombers under the command of Colonel James Doolittle left the carrier USS Hornet and flew a bombing mission over Tokyo and severalother Japanese cities in retaliation for the bombing of Pearl Harbor. it was the first successful bombing raid over the islands of Japan and served as a significant morale boost for the United States.
