1 janv. 1843 - The Great Migration
Description:
Whitman returned to the West, consequently leading the Great Migration. Thousands of people created a wagon line which would follow the Oregon Trail. There were not many white people in the West at the time, so it was a big deal for westward expansion. The Whitmans began to assist travelers as they passed through, sometimes allowing them to live at their mission. They spent more time doing this than they did trying to preach to the Cayuse Indians.
