Description:

Congress passed the Sherman Anti-Trust Act in 1890. The act declares that “[e]very contract, combination in the form of trust or otherwise, or conspiracy, in restraint of trade or commerce among the several States, or with foreign nations, is declared to be illegal.” Part Two further makes it a felony to monopolize or attempt to monopolize any aspect of interstate trade or commerce.
