Description:

Consists of 22 digitized telegrams from the papers of the Governor Thomas Riggs regarding the sinking of the SS Princess Sophia in October 1918. Consists of telegrams sent from the Princess Sophia to government entities, search parties, and forwarded to the Governor. This coastal passenger liner sank after grounding on Vanderbilt Reef, Lynn Canal, near Juneau with the loss of all passengers aboard.
