In Saskatoon, John is between both of his lovers. Jessie was in Blaine Lake (a two hour drive from Saskatoon)- with her parents, and Polly was in Regina - which is a only a short train ride away from Saskatoon.
The love triangle of Jessie, Polly and John was inching closer and closer together. Someone was going to have to move.
