Description:
The Indian Removal Act was signed on May 28th, 1830 to become a law by President Andrew Jackson. The law authorized the exchange of land west of the Mississippi for lands within state boarders. Many Native American tribes were reluctant to leave and were forcefully removed in 1838 during the Trail of Tears.
