Description:

The missouri compromise was created in an effort to create a balance between the number of slave states and free states. The compromise was passed on May 8th, 1820. It made Missouri a slave state and Maine a free state. With the exception of Missouri, any state above the 36° 30´ latitude line outlawed slavery.
