1 janv. 1531 - Zwinglian Reformation
Description:
Priest Ulrich Zwingli, a priest in Zürich, strongly influenced the city council to introduce major religious reforms. These religious reforms and new way of practice began to spread through other cities in Switzerland, which the Catholic states noticed very quickly. In 1531, the protestant and Catholic states of Switzerland broke out in war but Zürich's army was defeated and Zwingli was killed. After the death of Zwingli, the leader of Protestantism was then passed on to John Calvin. This was important during the reformation because it spread a new set of beliefs and religion through the Switzerland states, as well as 2 new leaders being appointed.
