Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister born on January 15th 1929 he was a leader of the civil rights movement. He became best known for his role in advancing civil rights using non-violent means of protest and civil disobedience. this was because of his Christian beliefs and the inspiration he took from the nonviolent activism of Mahatma Gandhi. MLK gave a speech in which he stated that he had a dream and in this dream blacks and whites lived together and went to school together, there was no discrimination but instead there was peace between races
