The Elementary Education Act was purpose built to grant general education to the youth of Britain. This was the general theme of the late 1800's across the Western World. Especially in Western Europe. The act set the groundwork for education from ages 6 to 12 and future acts and bills would expand upon this giving children from age 6 to 18 a general education in the United Kingdom.
