Description:

- Admiral Kimmel was in charge of Pearl Harbor at the time
- Hideki Tojo planned an attack on the United States
- Pearl Harbor was the largest U.S. Naval base in the Pacific, located on the Island of Hawaii
- The Japanese planes attacked Pearl Harbor for an hour and a half, the bases antiaircraft guns had minimal effect on the Japanese
- The Japanese killed 2,403 Americans and wounded 1,178 more. While also damaging nearly the whole U.S. Pacific fleet, along with 300 air crafts
- The attack weakened the U.S. Naval force as well as the morale of its citizens. It also sparked anger in the minds of Americans which made them feel a need to join the military effort after Roosevelt declared war
