The Sexual Offenses Act of 1967 is following the theme of Mid 20th Century British politics in legalizing various things that used to be considered taboo. The United Kingdom at this point in time had been progressing towards more of a Social Democracy, where they expanded public healthcare to all and greatly increased rights given to minority groups. This follows that overarching theme. Up until this point in British history homosexuality had been strictly illegal this act legalized it. This meant that the United Kingdom took one more step towards liberalization and equality for all of its peoples. This shows great amounts of development and progress in the UK and projects it onto a very progressive path.
