1 janv. 1600 - Flow, my tears (NAWM 65)
Description:
Composer: John Dowland
Lute songs, exemplified here, typically have more somber subject matter and a serious air. He adapted it from is most popular piece for lute, the pavane Lachrimae ('Tears'). A pavane was a slow processional dance with three repeated strains in the form AABBCC. Its opening motive is the basis for the entire piece: stepwise descent that suggests a falling tear.
