Description:
This was an economic system that produced cash crops in colonies for European markets. These crops, sugar, tobacco, rice, indigo heavily relied on slave labor. This increased the use of slave labor and the slave trade. Jamestown and the Caribbean were examples of this system.(key concept 2.2 ii)
