Description:
The South Atlantic System produced cash crops in colonies for European Markets. Those crops were sugar, tobacco, rice, and indigo. They relied on slave labor and increased the use of it and the slave trade. Slaves would not only be imported from West Africa to America, they would also be imported into the West Indies. /On these journies, many of the slaves would revolt./ Between 1500 and 1900 there were about 12.5 million Africans that were enslaved and sent to the New World.Key Concept 2.1: 2
