19 févr. 1600 - Slave Trade

Description:

"Mercantilism was benefited off of the Slave Trade because they could mine for silver and gold." It was prominent in Brazil because it was a Portuguese colony that was bases majorly off of sugar. The Portuguese traded for the West African Slaves that they sent to little islands off the coast. It was there that they would build up a massive plantation for farming sugar. The Portuguese would use this farm to trade off to others and benefit off of it. The Portuguese would then turn into the first European colonizers to have a deep interest in the slave trade.
