1 janv. 1877 - Phonograph: Thomas Edison

Description:

Edison’s phonograph was very similar to Lean Scott’s Phonautograph, it was the same principle but Edison played the recorded audio back. It was invented in 1877 and it was the first machine able to reproduce the recorded sound. The audio was recorded onto a tin cylinder via a stylus that responded to sound vibrations that went through the horn, the stylus produced an up and down “hill-and-dale” groove on the cylinder.
