Description:
The Camp David Accords were the result of 14 months of diplomatic efforts by Egypt, Israel, and the U.S. that began after Jimmy Carter became President. Its signing laid the groundwork for permanent peace agreement between Egypt and Israel after 3 decades of hostilities. It convinced the first Arab leader to recognize Egypt existed, and Israel gave up some of their territory. It is seen as a success of the Carter presidency.
