2 Chron 34. After Josiah's purge of idolatry throughout Judah and some of the areas of the formally northern tribes of Israel, the people turned to Josiah. Funds started to come in from throughout the entire land for the Temple repairs and this was entrusted to the Levites "that kept the doors" of the Temple.
This, in turn was handed over to the supervision of Hilkiah the High Priest (father of Jeremiah the prophet Jer 1/1). During the reconstruction works a copy of the Mosaic Law was found which had clearly not be used or adhered to by kings, priests and people for quite some time. Yahweh had used Prophets to try and communicate His will to Israel but now found it necessary to unearth "the book of the Law of Yahweh" v14 to assist a truly dedicated King in his quest to bring proper reform back to Gods people.
