Description:
Egypt was under British from its occupation in 1882 during the Anglo-Egyptian War to the last force withdrew in 1956. While the British remained for over three decades afterwards, Britain declared unilateral independence for Egypt after the Egyptian revolution of 1919, which was caused by the British exiling the revolutionary leader Saad Zaghlul and other Wafd Party members.
