Description:

- Pre-Outbreak
- Elena Anderson and Chen Wenzhu sit across from one another in their favourite restaurant in Changsha. They hold hands both on the verge of tears.
- Elena quickly takes out her plane ticket to America and rips it up, choosing to stay in China for a while longer with Zhu. She tells him "I'll rebook the flight. I can stay until the end of summer."
- Elena greatly regrets this decision after the outbreak traps her in China (see day 0). The entire world away from her family in America.
