5 janv. 1925 - Victory Junction

Description:

Victory Junction was located at present day intersection of Parallel Parkway and Highway 7. The most prominent structure in Junction was the Dutch Mill, a full scale replica, built in 1925 by an oil company. The structure, complete with moving blades, served as a gas station, restaurant and motel and could be seen at night from a distance, lights brightly shining. Victory Junction was a thoroughfare between Kansas City, Kansas and Tonganoxie. In 1923, the road opened up to Topeka, and was named Highway 40 in 1925.
