21 déc. 1851 - 1852: Harriet Beecher Stowe publishes Uncle Tom's Cabin and becomes one of the most influential abolitionists. Her book becomes one of the most widely read pieces of anti-slavery literature, and it exposed the brutality of slavery through hyperbole. Uncle Tom's Cabin was one of the most notable successes of the movement.
