21 août 1871 - Treaty No. 2
Description:
Treaty No. 2 was signed. Once again, the First Nations were to “cede, release, surrender, and yield up to Her Majesty the Queen” a large piece of land to the west and north of Manitoba. The piece of land was around 3 times as large as the province of Manitoba and would be used to new settlers. A reserve that would provide around 160 acres for each family of five was what they would receive in return
