Facebook buys WhatsApp to improve their status in the messaging world and the potential for the company to be long-term, because accourding to OnDevice Research, they are the most popular messaging app for smartphones. In Febuary 2014, Facebook offered a total of $19 billion, $4 billion in cash, $12 billion in stock, and $3 billion only if the staff will remain employed for four more years.
