Instagram is a socia media with millions of users. The app allows users to share pictures and minute-long videos amongst eachother. The app had a slow start, but quickly became very popular, currently boasting 800 million users. The app is important in social media because of the massive popularity it has, especially among younger audiences. The app is viewed as an alternative to facebook, basically filling in the role for young people that facebook does for older audiences.
